Artificial intelligence is often described as a software competition, but the race also depends on physical infrastructure. Data centers require land, advanced chips, cooling, transmission capacity, reliable electricity, financing, and a workforce capable of building and operating complex facilities.

Why is AI being compared with the space race?

Leadership in AI may influence defense, manufacturing, healthcare, research, communications, productivity, and global standards. Countries that build the strongest systems may gain strategic and economic advantages that extend beyond the technology industry.

Why are data centers essential to AI development?

Training and operating advanced models require large amounts of computing power. That computing is concentrated in facilities containing specialized processors, networking equipment, storage, cooling systems, and backup power.
